Thousands reasons to invest

The area of the Sistema Murgiano is characterised by an extremely dynamic territory which is rich of economic and financial attractiveness.

The enterprises settled in those areas destined to industrial production in their relative municipalities have register long-term positive performances which also do not respect the usual orientation of the Region in the last two years.

The data published by the Regional Observatory of Enterprises and Banks and in the 2004 Annual Report of Economics and Finance titled "The Puglia System", give evidence that the orientation of the Manufactured Industrial Production in the year 2003 has been stagnant for the entire region as the main indicators were substantially static as they were in the year 2002.

The Industry of the Sistema Murgiano has revealed, instead, better results. The sales proceeds of Enterprises, in fact, give evidence of a substantial increase by the 40 %. There is also a growth in the field of exported goods, which demonstrates the capability of the local system to works thanks to the presence of industrial settlements areas that represent the real engine of local economy's recent development.

Law for increasing the investment growth have contributed to the development of the area. About the 45% of the enterprises have appealed to 488/92 regulation. Actually, the area finds in a period of planning which makes use of the POR Puglia 2000 – 2006 funding. The financial resources are useful for a further development of the enterprises in all sectors of the economic activity.

There is the provision that when the funding destined for the 488/92's law will expire, the POR will become a valid alternative to guarantee to the local industrial system those necessary resources for leading future project to success. Moreover, these resources will allow local actors aiming to development a constant flow allowing to plan and distribute at best richness on the territory.

Apart from mature and well developed sectors such as the manufacturing production of sofas, there is also a series of activities which are rarely exploited in the area of the Sistema Murgiano.
Such activities centred in the third sector which range a minimal percentage over the total, need to be taken into considerations either by local investors, either by foreign ones.

In the majority of cases, these are enterprises involved in the production of services for citizens such as car practices, translations, photocopying, etc, etc, which are less entrenched with the local productive framework.

Those enterprises belonging to the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and to the TLC (Telecommunication) are rare in this area. Local enterprises are therefore forced to go beyond the borders of this area in order to purchase software products that are nowadays necessary for the good functioning of enterprises.

Nevertheless, thanks to the measure of the Axis number VI of the POR, this area of the region of Puglia will be receiving other financial resources aiming at improving the information system existing within the territory;

In facts, thanks to the 6.2 measure (Information Society), Murgia Sviluppo is activating a project called "Murgia Net", with the aim to further implement the existing One Stop Shop for Productive Activities (S.U.A.P) in order to create the business net-community which will be later be able to positively influence the levels of innovation and of competition of the entire social economic system of the Murgia.

From here there is the desire for investments in these sectors thanks to the facts that there are still numerous lots to be available for the settlements of new realities that are conceived as a completion of the economic framework which already flattering in the territory.

The continuous expansion of the area is a bid that can lead to victory through the use of long-medium investment programs involving all the forces operating within the territory such as entrepreneurs, politicians, citizens and the environment.
