Productive areas
Plans of productive settlements.
The plans of productive settlements are plans for urbanisation which are involved in the acquisition of areas available for the settlement of productive implants, legally guaranteed by the Law n. 865 approved on the 22nd of October and by the most current Regional Law number 2 of the 31st of January; According to the above mentioned: "the exercise of the administrative functions and of the tasks inherent to the definition, equipment and the management of the industrial areas considered by the general urban plan, are part of the competencies of the Municipalities within the framework of the Regional Economic planning" and "the granting of resources for the development of such functions has to be considered by the time of the approval of three years regional and municipal planning" (article number. 2, Paragraph n.1 and n.2).
According to the 865/71 Law concerning the allocation of those Areas for productive settlements, the same law has been modified by the law 449/97, which grants single municipalities the capacity to allocate expropriated areas for the creation of industrial, handcraft, commercial and tourist productive settlements, through the low cost relinquishment, by virtue of the property and surface rights, of the PIP areas in order to encourage the localisation of new productive activities.
The Areas for productive settlements of the System of the Murgia's Area offer a wide range of opportunities and occupies a surface of about 4.373.033 square meters divided into 1.339 lots. A number of 469 lots are not yet available and their dimensional diversification allows the localisation of various typologies of productive implants, from the industrial to the commercial sector, to the sector of handcraft production to services. The tertiary sector, in fact, is the only one which offers further perspectives for growth given the less exploitation of this kind of activities at the moment.
